Q & A with Dr. Wen

The Washington Post ran an article by Dr. Leana Wen about an experience she had in the emergency room treating a patient who stutters. She touched on her own experience with stuttering. After that article ran, we interviewed Dr. Wen.

Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson is a powerful and prolific American actor, who has achieved both critical and commercial acclaim for his roles in films such as Jungle Fever, Jurassic Park, Pulp Fiction, the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Iron Man and Marvel's The Avengers. In 2011, Jackson became the highest-grossing actor of all time. Jackson's films are seen and loved by millions. What those millions of people may not know, however, is that Jackson also struggles with stuttering.

Wayne Brady

Wayne Brady has been making audiences laugh for years on shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and in live comedic performances. However, it took a while before people began to laugh with him.

According to an interview with CBS News, Brady was "reluctant to even open his mouth because of a debilitating stutter" as a child growing up in Orlando.

B.B. King

B.B. King was born Riley B. King in 1925. Listed as number three on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all-time, King's career and accomplishments are legendary, yet his stuttering has received scant attention over the years.

Charlie Sheen

Actor Charlie Sheen is best known for his starring role on CBS' long-running hit show, Two and a Half Men. While Sheen is recognized today as a celebrated star of stage and screen, he has had to overcome his own struggle with stuttering to achieve success as an actor.
