Seven numbers. 10, including the area code. Yes, I am talking about your phone number. The numbers that connect you to other people. The numbers on your mind while talking to a potential love interest. Actually, the love interest is doing most of the talking, but you are still thinking about giving your number, even as you worry about how it will it come out. Will the individual even understand what you’re saying? To some, you might as well be asking to spell every word in the dictionary – it’s that frustrating. Every. Word. But before you have time to contemplate it more, the question is thrown into the universe. “Do you want to exchange numbers?” The question sends some shivers up your spine. SSSSSure. M-M-My number is S-S-S-Seven Nine T-T-Two Th-Th-Th-Th-Th (block) Three F-F-Five ZZZZero (block) Zero.

It takes vulnerability to put yourself out there, especially when there’s a risk of being turned down. Open yourself up and take the chance; you never know what could happen. The love interest could:

A) Stare incredulously and give THE LOOK we know all too well and walk away; or

B) After a moment, gives you their number and says, “Thanks; give me a call. I don’t mind your stutter – my cousin stutters too!

Life is about unveiling yourself to different people. Hopefully you will meet someone you want to call, b-b-b-b-but eeeeven if y-y-you d-d-don’t, the the the right peop- people will l-l-l-love you, even even if you st-st-st-st-st-(breath taken) stutter.
