Foundation's President Introduces Award-Winning Author at St. Simons School
St. Simons Island, GA (Sept. 14, 2016) — Stuttering Foundation President Jane Fraser had the honor of introducing author Vince Vawter [1] at an assembly at Frederica Academy, St. Simons Island, Ga., today for a presentation about his book Paperboy [2].
The book was a Newbery Medal Honor Book in 2014. Students were assigned to write papers about the novel, and were treated with the opportunity to meet the author and hear about his life experiences
Vawter was honored by the Stuttering Foundation in 2014 at its National Stuttering Awareness Week Gala [3] in New York City.
"Vince's work is such an inspiration to thousands of young people who struggle with stuttering every day," said Fraser.
